We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role will work closely with the Controller and lead a small team while supporting overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee general ledger and maintain accurate financial records
- Perform month-end and year-end closing
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Supervise AP/AR functions and staff
- Monitor collections and customer payment trends
- Manage domestic and international payments (wire/ACH)
- Monitor cash flow and review AP/AR aging
- Support budgeting and financial planning
- Analyze financial performance and profitability
- Coordinate federal, state, and sales tax filings
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Work with external auditors for financial reviews
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Improve processes and operational efficiency
- Support team development and training
- Manage intercompany transactions and reporting
- Prepare internal and global financial reports
- Support cross-functional teams with financial insights
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience (management experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end closing and financial statements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Japanese-English bilingual (professional working proficiency)
