Partnership Employment is partnered with a retailer in Katy, TX that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a primary resource for accounting policies, compliance expectations, and internal controls, including SOX-related standards.
- Lead and manage critical financial cycles such as month-end and year-end close with a focus on timeliness, accuracy, and process optimization.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements and operational results to identify variances, patterns, and improvement opportunities, presenting findings in a way that supports informed business decisions.
- Review and prepare financial reports and key performance metrics, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational requirements.
- Drive process improvement and automation efforts, anticipating risks, resolving issues proactively, and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Support and oversee special assignments, strategic priorities, and department initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including external and internal auditors, to maintain alignment, transparency, and effective communication.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold high standards of integrity regarding financial reporting and documentation.
- Duties may evolve as business needs change and additional priorities are identified.
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and financial controls
- Experience with large ERP systems and complex financial analysis
- Retail inventory accounting experience preferred
Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
