What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Accountant position at Partnership Employment?
We’re partnering with a growing, mission-driven organization to identify a Grants Accountant to join a collaborative finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial reporting while supporting grant oversight, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you’ll do:
- Manage core accounting operations including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee billing and revenue recognition across multiple funding streams
- Serve as a lead resource for grant accounting, compliance, and reimbursement reporting
- Partner with program and department leaders on budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations
- Help strengthen systems, processes, and internal controls as the organization scales
What we’re looking for:
- Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
- Background supporting grants, contracts, or regulated funding (nonprofit or similar environment preferred)
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally
- Interest in process improvement and contributing beyond day-to-day accounting
