We are recruiting for a Controller opportunity in Worcester County seeking an experienced accounting leader with a strong construction and/or real estate development background.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the accounting function and oversight of a small accounting team. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership and have significant visibility into the financial side of active construction and development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close and financial reporting
- Oversee a small accounting team
- Manage accounting across multiple entities
- Oversee job costing and project accounting
- Manage intercompany activity and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor cash flow and treasury activity
- Oversee AP, AR and transactional accounting
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Maintain strong accounting controls and processes
- Partner with senior leadership on financial reporting and business decisions
- Improve accounting systems, reporting and processes
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong accounting experience within construction, real estate development, homebuilding or a related project-based environment
- Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager or similar leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of job costing and construction/project accounting
- Multi-entity and intercompany accounting experience
- Cash flow and treasury experience
- Strong Excel and systems skills
- Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Location: Worcester County, MA
- Schedule: 100% onsite, Monday-Friday
