Summary of Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis. This position will focus on cost accounting, budgeting, and performance analysis within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support management in decision-making by analyzing purchasing activity outcomes.
- Collect, study, and evaluate data to determine the costs of business activities, including raw materials, inventory, and labor.
- Compare actual costs to estimates; analyze variances and record results.
- Prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual production results.
- Assess the impact of changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods on overall costs.
- Maintain and enhance the Cost Accounting System.
- Record and analyze cost information to aid in controlling expenditures.
- Conduct audits of cost processes and prepare related reports.
- Develop estimates for new and proposed product costs.
- Provide management with reports that highlight factors affecting pricing and profitability.
- Support month-end close activities, including inventory reconciliations and general ledger entries.
- Conduct physical inventories and oversee the cycle count program.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of hourly payroll transactions.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial information to support business needs.
- Manage workflow to ensure all financial and payroll processes meet accuracy and timing standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in cost accounting systems with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proven ability to prepare detailed and accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Experience in developing and analyzing cost standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Finance or Accounting experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
