What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mill Turn Setup position at Partners Personnel?
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThe Mill turn Setup is responsible for setting up and operate machines in mill turn department to ensure that jobs meet requirement and on time. Additional responsibilities includes providing guidance to operators to finish up assigned jobs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Read and interpret material and process specifications, engineering drawings, technical reports, manuals, and work instructions- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, or sample parts for setup requirements- Setup and operate CNC mill/turning centers such as Mori Seiki NL Model- Uses inspection tools (like height gauge, optical comparators, thread gauges, plugs gauges, micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.) to check in-process work for adherence to certain specification and complete written inspection reports- Accurately complete paperwork related to counts, scrap, time, etc., according to Company policy, such as First Article Inspection results, job travelers, non-conformance reports, and/or any associated paperwork- Collect data and follow data collection procedures at the workstation for each operation- Make edits and adjustments as required to produce parts per work order/ blueprint specifications- Maintains and monitors the performance of the machine and/or equipment for signs of problems, such as vibrating work piece, breakage of cutting tools, etc.- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems- Provides instructions for operator to finish up assigned jobs- Participates in continuous improvement teams and activitiesOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES- Additional duties as assignedCOMPUTER / TECHNICAL SKILLS- Must be able to read and interpret GD&T- Must be able to inspect work for all dimensional features as required- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application- Familiar with AS9100 Quality Management System a plus- Attention to detail- Must be able to communicate clearly with peers and supervisors- Ability to multitask effectively, while meeting deadlines- Ability to work in fast paced environment with minimal supervision- Flexibility to work overtime required when necessary (weekdays or weekends)QUALIFICATIONS- Certificate of Completion of Machining Technology training or equivalent is required- Minimum of two years of experience with mill/turning and lathe equipmentOTHER REQUIREMENTS· Must be a U.S. citizen as defined by ITAR (i.e. U.S. citizen, U.S permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).· Must follow AS9100/IS9100 quality standard and processes· Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently· Knowledge of proper safety procedures and best practices in manufacturing environment
