Bankruptcy Attorney – Creditor Rights (Pennsylvania)

Location: Pennsylvania - Remote

Our client, a well-established and nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney to join its growing creditors' rights practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with creditor-side bankruptcy experience who enjoys managing cases from inception through resolution while representing institutional mortgage lenders and loan servicers in Chapters 7, 13, and 11 proceedings.

In this role, you'll work alongside an experienced team handling complex bankruptcy matters, advising sophisticated financial institution clients, and appearing in bankruptcy courts throughout Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities
  • Represent institutional lenders, mortgage servicers, and other secured creditors in Chapters 7, 13, and 11 bankruptcy matters.
  • Manage bankruptcy files from initial referral through final resolution.
  • Prepare and file proofs of claim, motions for relief from stay, plan reviews and objections, and other bankruptcy pleadings.
  • Handle loan modification and loss mitigation matters while ensuring compliance with applicable bankruptcy requirements.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances throughout Pennsylvania.
  • Research legal issues, analyze case law, and develop strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Provide practical legal guidance regarding bankruptcy procedures, servicing requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, trustees, and the courts.
  • Maintain an organized, high-volume caseload while meeting court deadlines and client expectations.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Pennsylvania Bar license and member in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of bankruptcy attorney experience, including at least 1 year representing creditors in Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Courts.
  • Strong understanding of Chapters 7, 13, and 11 bankruptcy practice.
  • Experience drafting motions, pleadings, objections, and other bankruptcy-related filings.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a busy caseload and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Comfortable appearing in bankruptcy courts and attending hearings throughout the state.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
