The Senior Director/VP will drive strategic business development for our client's CMC services, driving growth through partnerships and market expansion across North America. It combines scientific insight with commercial expertise to build long-term relationships and deliver value in the biopharma ecosystem.

The company is a global CDMO delivering differentiated CMC solutions to biopharma partners. It has serviced nearly 300 biopharma companies worldwide and seeks to further expand its North American impact.

Description

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand CMC services across North America.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Head end-to-end business development efforts, from outreach to deal execution.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline aligned with customer needs and growth goals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to assess opportunities and facilitate transactions.
  • Represent the company at industry and scientific events as necessary to enhance visibility.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing business development team.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to engage clients and drive partnerships.

Profile

A successful Senior Director/VP, Head of U.S. Business Development should have:

  • 15 years in biotech/pharma, including experience with CDMOs.
  • Proven success in business development, especially in contract manufacturing.
  • Strong grasp of CMC/API services and the industry dynamics in pharmaceutical outsourcing.
  • Advanced degree in chemistry, biology, or related scientific skill; MBA preferred for commercial acumen.
  • Ability to build and direct teams, with strong mentoring and performance management skills.
