Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Support medical procedures by preparing patients and assisting with tasks like catheter care
- Ensure patient safety by utilizing equipment such as Hoyer lifts and adhering to aseptic techniques during care delivery
- Document patient interactions accurately in medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect privacy
- Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, behavioral health needs, or developmental disabilities
- Assist in medication administration under supervision and support emergency or urgent care situations in fast-paced environments like Level I Trauma Centers or ICU units
Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in geriatrics, memory care, or long-term care settings such as nursing homes or assisted living communities
- Hands-on experience with specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or DME (Durable Medical Equipment) is a plus
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or hospice care are advantageous
