SKILLS REQUIRED
Primary (Must-Have):
- Knowledge of the medical staff credentialing process
- Experience verifying and maintaining provider credentials and documentation

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Credentialing Specialist to support our healthcare based client in Morristown, NJ. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with physician and allied health credentialing, including initial applications, reappointments, license and certification verification, and maintaining accurate provider records. Strong knowledge of the credentialing process, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process initial credentialing applications and reappointments
- Collect and verify provider credentials, including licenses, certifications, education, training, work history, references, and malpractice insurance
- Conduct sanctions, exclusions, and background screenings as required
- Ensure applications and credentialing documentation comply with federal, state, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and current provider information in the Echo credentialing database
- Track expiration dates for licenses and certifications and coordinate timely renewals
- Prepare credentialing reports and materials for Credentials Committee, MEC, and Board of Trustees meetings
- Ensure credentialing activities comply with applicable medical staff bylaws
- Schedule site-based medical staff department meetings and take meeting minutes when required
- Process and collect site-based medical staff dues
- Maintain confidentiality and security of provider information
- Research and analyze credentialing information and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of all credentialing activities and provider data
- Perform other duties as assigned.
