What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Engineer (MEP) position at Owen Thomas Group?
A consulting client of ours in NYC is seeking a Plumbing/Sprinkler Engineer to assist on their upcoming projects. The proper candidate will have experience within the MEP consulting space and will have a strong technical understanding with MEP projects.
Responsibilities -
- Works with their Department Leader and senior level management to develop conceptual design for projects and guides their team through project completion.
- Design advanced building systems, prepares design documents, and performs engineering calculations in coordination with project teams and multiple disciplines
- Responsible for project deliverables both technically and functionally.
- Presents and explains project designs confidently at internal and external meetings.
- Coordinates and updates the project team regularly to meet design expectations and deadlines
- Successfully executes multiple fit-out/renovation projects and/or large/complex projects from concept to completion.
Qualifications -
- 3 years of engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Proficient in all design calculations and software tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD) applicable to your discipline
- Strong understanding of trade-specific scope of project, trade-related codes, and the required coordination with other trades
- Strong understanding of documentation requirements and content for each deliverable phase (e.g., SD, DD, CD and specifications)
Salary : $85,000 - $130,000
