What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer (MEP) position at Owen Thomas Group?
Projects for this role will vary between commercial high-rises, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, and data center projects. Our client is flexible with backgrounds but would prefer someone with mission-critical experience.
Responsibilities -
- Assist engineers in preparing design documentation.
- Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings of Electrical systems.
- Assist engineers with design calculations and sizing building Electrical systems.
- Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash & fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design.
- Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
- Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
- Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings.
Qualifications -
- A degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing electrical systems.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- EIT or desire to obtain license.
- Strong Analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking.
- Strong initiative—the willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
- Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing.
Salary : $90,000 - $130,000
