Duties
- Operate garment care machines such as industrial washers, dryers, and dry cleaning equipment to ensure efficient laundry processing.
- Handle laundry materials with care, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and organizing textiles according to type and care instructions.
- Maintain sanitation standards by properly using laundry detergents and cleaning agents while adhering to safety protocols.
- Use push carts and other materials handling tools to transport heavy loads safely within the laundry area.
- Follow established safety standards during manual handling of heavy or bulky items to prevent injuries.
- Perform routine inspection of laundry equipment for proper operation and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure all laundry services meet quality standards by checking garment care and textile cleanliness before distribution or storage.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and sanitation procedures specific to textile care.
- Experience operating laundry machines such as industrial washers, dryers, and dry cleaning units.
- Ability to handle materials safely using proper manual handling techniques and push carts for heavy loads.
- Basic math skills for measuring detergents and calculating load sizes accurately.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments to ensure safe operation of equipment and handling of chemicals.
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with staff or residents regarding laundry needs.
