What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Supervisor position at Orange County Government?
The Orange County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation is now accepting applications for the position of Recreation Supervisor. This position will be assigned to the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Chester. This position is Full-Time at reduced hours and is allocated to the competitive class. The nature of the appointment is provisional, pending the outcome of a Civil Service Examination. Civil Service Examination will be announced at a later date.
The work involves responsibility for planning, organizing and supervising the County's recreation programs and events. The incumbent is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Performing Arts Center. Work is performed under the general direction of the Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. Supervision is exercised over assigned departmental personnel. Will be required to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(A) Possession of a Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Recreation, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in recreation supervision or event planning or the administrative support of an event related business; OR
(B) Possession of an Associate's Degree, in Recreation, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field and three (3) years of experience as listed above.
Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Must possess at time of appointment and maintain a valid driver's license.
SALARY: Orange County Employees - As per contract, Grade 15;
For new employees - $39.0489 per hour
