Orange County Utilities provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County, Florida. The Engineering Division manages the Capital Improvement Program for water, wastewater, reclaimed water, and solid waste projects. The division also reviews the plans and agreements of proposed infrastructure by the development community to conform to the Orange County Utilities Standards and Construction Specifications Manual.
The Engineering Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Engineer I/ II/ III for the Utilities Engineering Division.
Job Description
Responsibilities / Duties
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
Engineer I
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor¿s degree in Engineering
Engineer II
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor¿s degree in Engineering and one (1) year of utilities engineering related experience.
Engineer III
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor¿s degree in Engineering and four (4) years of utilities engineering related experience.
Must be licensed by the Florida State Board of Professional Engineers as a professional engineer.
Must possess and maintain a Professional Engineer license from the Florida State Board of Professional Engineers or be able to obtain it within (6) six months from date of hire.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Drivers License.

- Project Manager of utilities capital improvement projects for utilities coordination and relocations due to transportation (road) projects.
- Additional projects could be in wastewater force mains renewal and rehabilitation program.
- The position manages projects from planning through land acquisition, design, permitting and construction.
- Performing other related duties as required and as requested by Supervisor.
Engineer I
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor¿s degree in Engineering

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor¿s degree in Engineering and one (1) year of utilities engineering related experience.
Engineer III

- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Bachelor¿s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
