Grants and Finance Specialist
Palo Alto, Ca – Hybrid
$40 - $48/hour
Our client is seeking a professional and polished Financial Specialist with Research and Grants experience to join their team. In this opportunity, you will be responsible for overseeing the grant submission process, reviewing documents for completeness and compliance, budgeting, and designing financial reports.
Responsibilities:
- Participate with the principal investigator(s) in the preparation of the administrative components of proposals within the parameters of sponsored and non-sponsored research guidelines.
- Oversee and communicate submission process, both paper and electronic; review documents for completeness and compliance.
- Develop, prepare, and finalize project budgets, and provide budget justification.
- Ensure awards are set up properly and cost-sharing requirements are fulfilled; initiate cost transfers.
- Review and approve expenditures, advise on post-award spending and commitment activity, and oversee compliance related to funds and revenue.
- Develop and communicate reports supporting project status.
- Create effective forecasting and decision aides.
- Participate in contract closeout process; submit final reports and certificates.
- Compile information and documents needed for audit inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of directly related work experience
- Research and Grants experience is required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience using Oracle is a plus!
