Onsite Sales Representative

OPS Steel Company is searching for the perfect candidate to be the face of our retail store front. If you are a people person and enjoy making long term customer relationships this job might be a good fit for you.

Pay Range: Hourly pay will be discussed during the final interview and no commission will be offered.

Position Summary:

Sells full line of products to all types of customers via phone and face to face. Responsible for accurate price quoting and ensuring accurate delivery of all orders and buyouts.

Probationary Period

Due to the job responsibilities, the probationary period for this role will be 6 months.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Have a strong initiative to develop partnering relationships with customers and vendors
2. Answer incoming calls by the second ring and taking product inquiries from customers. Respond to a variety of media inquiries, including, website and email.
3. Quote price and delivery to customers based on pricing structure ensuring accuracy.
4. Understanding of how to compute pricing for all types of processing and be able to suggest and upsell added products and services.
5. Has a working knowledge of all types and grades of products offered, how the products are used and will be helpful in finding and developing additional resources and information as needed.
6. Prepares orders according to the established standards and procedures.
7. Maintains an awareness of extending credit standards and procedures.
8. Maintain a good working relationship with inside salespersons, Store Manager and other Company Supervisors to maximize response to customer complaints, with ability to handle conflict.
9. Complete other duties as assigned.
10. Good attendance is essential function of this job, with hours being Monday-Friday 7:30-5:00 and a commitment to a Saturday morning schedule of 7:30-12:00
11. Must maintain a professional appearance within company standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Detail Oriented
2. Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel and Outlook
3. Excellent, math, communication and organizational skills
4. Uncompromising commitment to provide quality customer services as we strive to be the customer’s first choice.
5. Requires the ability to be open minded and easily adapts to change.
6. Proven ability to handle unhappy customers, providing resolution to complaints and conflicts and working with Store Manager to follow company standards while doing so.
7. Proven proficiency in money handling, cash, credit cards, etc. How to process not only debits, but issue credits with 100% accuracy.
8. Must have experience in helping manage inventory.
9. Proven experience and success at accepting accountability for success and failures.
10. Proven success in the sales of industrial type products.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

1. While performing duties of this job, you may be required to stand, sit, reach, climb, stoop, talk and hear.
2. Must be able lift/move up to 25 pounds
3. Requires the ability to work overtime weekly
