Customer Service Specialist – Data Entry

Openwork is hiring a Customer Service Specialist to support Harris County. In this role, you’ll be the voice of the transit system—helping customers get the answers they need, scheduling rides, and making sure the data behind the system is accurate and reliable. You’ll also play an important part in billing, office support, and public outreach, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Do
Enter and track transit data (ridership, fares, on-time performance, customer feedback) in TransTrack.
Answer customer questions by phone, email, text, and online applications.
Coordinate trip requests and scheduling for On Demand and Para Transit services.
Provide ETAs, service updates, and resolve questions about fares and eligibility.
Assist with complaints, schedule distribution, and transfer slips.
Support billing, invoicing, and general office administration.
Represent Harris County Transit at outreach events and community programs.
Monitor routes, review reports, and assist with fieldwork.
Schedule Para Transit appointments and support the Harris County Medical Program.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of customer service, data entry, or administrative support.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Earth.
Experience with billing, databases, and correspondence.
Knowledge of the transit industry is a plus.
Ability to work independently while serving a diverse public, including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Certifications: Must obtain CPR, First Aid, and Red Cross disaster training within 90 days of hire.
