ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Director of Hospitality and Food Services oversees the daily operations of the kitchen, dining services, and food resource management functions to ensure safe, efficient, and mission-focused meal service. This position is responsible for food production, inventory control, food donation management,
volunteer and staff coordination, regulatory compliance, and facility oversight within food service and dining areas. The Director works collaboratively with Hospitality staff and other departments to provide nutritious meals, maintain quality service standards, steward donated resources, and foster a welcoming, respectful, and Christ-centered environment for guests, volunteers, and staff while supporting the mission of Open Door Mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including meal planning, preparation, and service.
- Develop and implement standardized recipes and portion control procedures.
- Maintain and rotate inventory utilizing FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Communicate inventory and supply needs with warehouse staff and other departments.
- Communicate Kitchen Services Coordinator to coordinate the set up and tear down of special events.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A visible relationship with Jesus Christ, and ability to share the gospel as opportunities arise.
- Consistent attendance at a local Christian church.
- 2–5 years of experience in kitchen or food service management
- Knowledge of food safety standards
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE...
- Food Handler Certificate/Training
- Experience working in a nonprofit, shelter, or community meal program
- Experience managing volunteers
- Familiarity with food donation systems and inventory tracking
