Role Overview
OneHealth is seeking a knowledgeable and professional Benefit Counselor to join our growing team. This full-time role can be based in-office, or hybrid. The ideal candidate has voluntary benefits experience, holds an active life and health license, and is comfortable operating in a structured, high-volume, and well-supported environment.
In this role, you will guide employees through their benefit options for one of our large national clients through scheduled, appointment-based sessions. There is no prospecting, no lead generation, and no changing product mix. This is a consultative, process-driven position focused on delivering clear, educational conversations that help employees understand and enroll in accident, hospital indemnity, disability, and life insurance offerings with confidence and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
As a Benefit Counselor, you will represent OneHealth in every employee interaction and deliver a consistent, high-quality enrollment experience.
Enrollment Counseling
- Conduct one-on-one benefits sessions via phone or video
- Walk employees through voluntary benefit options using a clear, educational approach
- Explain product offerings and help employees make informed decisions
- Complete enrollment forms and online applications accurately and efficiently
Client-Specific Support
- Work exclusively with employees from assigned national client groups
- Learn and apply each client’s benefit structure and enrollment process
- Deliver consistent and compliant enrollment experiences
- Follow up on missed appointments and incomplete enrollments
Process Execution and Coordination
- Maintain strict adherence to scheduled appointments and timelines
- Document all activity and outcomes within OneHealth systems
- Coordinate with scheduling teams and client contacts as needed
- Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate
Required Qualifications
- Active Life and Health Insurance license
- 3 to 5 years of experience in benefits enrollment, and voluntary benefit sales
- Prior experience with Aflac, Colonial Life, or similar providers preferred
- Strong familiarity with accident, hospital indemnity, disability, and life insurance products
- Experience working with employer-based benefit programs or PEO environments preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex coverage simply
- Comfortable using virtual meeting platforms, enrollment systems, and CRM tools
- Experience working in a structured, appointment-based environment

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $50,000 to $62,000 annually based on experience
- Quarterly bonus structure based on sales performance
