Job Overview

Salary: 75k to 100k, depending on qualifications.

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Office Manager to oversee daily shipping and logistics operations and lead a team in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Senior Shipping Manager, the ideal candidate will have 5 years of management experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or apparel setting. This role is responsible for managing shipping office staff, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met, maintaining a safe work environment, overseeing shipping documentation and compliance, and supporting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and oversee daily shipping office operations, staffing, and team performance.

· Ensure outbound shipments are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with quality and carrier standards.

· Route and schedule domestic and international orders via carrier/web-based routing systems.

· Run and review order reports to track order status, shipping progress, and fulfillment accuracy.

· Develop and monitor productivity metrics, workflow efficiency, and shipping schedules.

· Plan and coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resources to meet production goals and customer deadlines.

· Partner with warehouse, inventory, customer service, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

· Oversee shipping documentation, carrier relationships, freight costs, and compliance with shipping regulations.

· Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues, escalating as needed.

· Establish and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.

· Oversee shipping, and order fulfillment activities, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

· Analyze team and operational performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

· Train, mentor, and develop shipping office staff and supervisors.

· Prepare reports and communicate operational performance to senior leadership.

Qualifications

· 5 years of management experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or apparel environment.

· Proven experience managing teams, including supervisors, and meeting productivity and operational goals.

· Strong knowledge of shipping operations, freight/carrier management, and logistics workflows.

· Experience routing domestic and international orders via web-based carrier/routing systems.

· In-depth knowledge of inventory control, receiving, shipping, and order fulfillment processes.

· Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping/logistics software required.

· Heavy internet and email usage required; strong computer proficiency necessary.

· Ability to understand and manage 1,000 customer accounts.

· Knowledge of ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) processes and requirements.

· Familiarity with billing and invoicing processes related to shipping and logistics.

· Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.

· Ability to manage budgets, costs, and vendor/carrier relationships.

· Apparel or clothing industry experience is a plus.
