Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of accounting policies across the organization
- Manage the annual review and update process for all accounting policies
- Monitor and interpret updates from regulatory and standard-setting bodies and assess impact to the business
- Drive technical accounting research initiatives across both GAAP and Statutory frameworks, partnering with cross-functional finance teams
- Oversee adherence to internal records and information management policies within the finance function
- Perform quality control reviews of quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including SEC and NAIC submissions
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and/or Statutory Accounting principles; SEC reporting experience is a plus
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Prior experience within financial services or insurance is preferred
- CPA a must (or currently being pursued)
