Senior Technical Reporting Accountant

Oliver James is partnering with a public insurance organization seeking a Senior Technical Reporting Accountant to join its finance team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of accounting policies across the organization
• Manage the annual review and update process for all accounting policies
• Monitor and interpret updates from regulatory and standard-setting bodies and assess impact to the business
• Drive technical accounting research initiatives across both GAAP and Statutory frameworks, partnering with cross-functional finance teams
• Oversee adherence to internal records and information management policies within the finance function
• Perform quality control reviews of quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including SEC and NAIC submissions
• Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and/or Statutory Accounting principles; SEC reporting experience is a plus
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Prior experience within financial services or insurance is preferred
• CPA a must (or currently being pursued)
