The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting function within a growing insurance organization. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation
• Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial accuracy within SAGE 100
• Analyze financial results, research variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP (statutory reporting experience is a plus)
• Assist with external audits, regulatory reporting, and financial statement preparation
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting procedures, and documentation
• Partner with finance leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 4 years of progressive accounting experience
• Insurance industry accounting experience is required
• Property & Casualty insurance experience strongly preferred
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP; statutory accounting experience is a plus
• Experience using SAGE 100 or a similar ERP/accounting system preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
