Associate Director, Tax

Join a fast-growing health insurtech company that’s transforming health insurance through technology and a member-first approach. As Associate Director, Tax, you’ll lead core tax compliance and reporting while helping shape tax strategy for a scaling, tech-driven organization.

You’ll own income tax compliance, GAAP and Statutory tax provisions, and collaborate closely with Finance, leadership, and external partners to modernize and automate tax operations. This role reports to senior tax leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Lead quarterly and annual GAAP and Statutory tax provision processes.
• Review federal, state, and local tax filings for corporate and insurance entities.
• Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors.
• Drive automation and technology-enabled improvements in tax compliance and reporting.
• Support tax audits, notices, and related correspondence.
• Partner across Finance and the business to resolve tax issues and support organizational goals.
• Monitor insurance tax developments and contribute to tax strategy and planning initiatives.
• Build financial analysis and forecasting models for tax projects and planning.
  
  

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
• 7 years of tax experience (public accounting or corporate tax)
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740
• 3 years of people leadership experience
• Comfortable working with tax code, regulations, and large datasets
  
  

Bonus Points

• CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation
• Experience with insurance tax and statutory reporting
• Tax provision software implementation experience
• Strong modeling and automation skills
• Background in health insurance or insurtech
