Accounting Manager | P&C Insurance | Maryland (Hybrid)
We are currently partnering with a well-established, Property & Casualty insurer to appoint an Accounting Manager into their growing finance function.
This is a high-visibility role within a collaborative team, offering clear succession planning and long-term progression into senior leadership. Reporting directly to the VP of Accounting, this role will take ownership of core accounting operations while managing a small team. You will play a key role in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and audit processes, while partnering with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of financial reporting and general ledger activities
- Ownership of NAIC and statutory regulatory filings
- Management of the budgeting process and variance analysis
- Supervision of Accounts Payable and junior accounting staff
- Coordination of external audits and insurance examinations
- Support senior leadership with reporting, presentations, and business insights
- CPA preferred (MBA also considered)
- 5-7 years’ accounting experience within P&C insurance
- Strong understanding of statutory accounting principles (NAIC)
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
- Background in public accounting with insurance exposure also considered
- $125,000 – $150,000 base bonus (flexible for the right profile)
- Hybrid working (3 days on-site in Hunt Valley, MD)
