Key Information Technology Manager 2 Tasks

  • Manages multiple functional areas including Infrastructure, Database Administration, Business Intelligence, DevOps, Information Technology Service Management (ITSM), Client Services, and Production Control.
  • Plans, coordinates & supervises all activities related to multi-cloud architecture, user management, active directory management, Office 365 management, data management, data analytics, business intelligence, service management, client services, changes control management, call center and application support.
  • Responsible for defining and maintaining infrastructure including multi-cloud architecture, multi-cloud administration & management, hardware, network, operating systems, software, and data systems.
  • Ensures compliance with State Cyber-security policies and procedures.
  • Ensures an operational green-field posture with our operating systems, databases, and hardware.
  • Collaborates with Project Management, Development, Business Analysis, Software Quality Management & business users to facilitate ITS program development and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Defines Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) processes, procedures, standards, and metrics, including the Call Center, Application Support (Tier 1 & Tier 2), and Client Services.
  • Plans and implements processes, procedures, and policies that continuously improve customer support and ITS services.
  • Organizes, directs & oversees Infrastructure Management Staff, ITSM Management Staff, Client Services & Application Support Management Staff (e.g., interviews & hires staff, completes performance evaluations, ensures training & work direction, recommends commendation & discipline).
  • Confers & meets with users, vendors &/or other section managers to exchange information, resolve difficult or technical problems &/or to coordinate operations.
  • Attends management-level meetings & provides expert advice to higher-level management personnel.
  • Works with other departments and divisions, and with external business users on enterprise project & initiative tracking.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, training sessions &/or workshops on related topics.

Completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language (for example, COBOL, Delphi, Java, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, Pl 1, SAS PCS, Pacbase, Full Visual Suite, Designer 2000, Developer 2000, C, C , Visual C, ECL, or Visual Studio), logic-based mathematics, data base concepts (for example, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Paradox, Sybase, IMS DB, DB2, Cache, DMS, or RDMS), computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing concepts AND additional 7 1/2 years (90 months') experience commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting AND 2 years experience in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose.

9 1/2 years (114 months') experience commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting AND 2 years exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose.

12 months' experience as Information Technology Manager 1, 64132.

In offices of statewide information technology policy & planning, positions require completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language (for example, COBOL, Delphi, Java, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, Pl 1, SAS PCS, Pacbase, Full Visual Suite, Designer 2000, Developer 2000, C, C , Visual C, ECL, or Visual Studio), logic-based mathematics, data base concepts (for example, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Paradox, Sybase, IMS DB, DB2, Cache, DMS, Or RDMS), computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing concepts AND 3 years' experience in utilizing word processing software AND 3 years' experience in utilizing internet browser(s) for research AND 66 months' experience which included the following: knowledge of information technology architecture components, developing information technology strategic plans, preparing & making presentations/public speaking, writing information technology related policy & procedures, preparing & monitoring budget, providing cost & resources estimates, & contract management AND 2 years' experience in utilizing e-mail system AND 18 months' experience in project management or lead role on information technology project AND 12 months' experience in utilizing spreadsheet software AND 2 years' experience as Information Technology Supervisor 3, 64119, or 12 months' experience as Information Technology Manager 1, 64132, or equivalent.
