Relieves Manager Of Non-routine Administrative Functions
- Oversees the Unusual & Major Unusual Incidents at the Gallipolis Developmental Center
- Formulates & implements policies & procedures (e.g., Safety, Major Unusual Incidents, Investigative Process pertaining to the reporting & investigation of Unusual & Major Unusual Incidents)
- Serves as a liaison between staff & management at the facility
- Transmits rules, policies, directives & other pertinent information to all levels of staff to ensure compliance with state operating procedures relating to Unusual & Major Unusual Incidents
- Conducts investigations, interviews involving residents &/or staff of GDC
- Collects evidence, documents findings, develops findings into written report format
- Files documents, sends written report to appropriate personnel within prescribed timelines
- Collects & prepares quarterly, semi-annual, annual reports on trends and patterns of incidents
- Develops and monitors systems to ensure compliance with Certification & Licensure standards pertaining to incident reporting
- Works with other facilities to document trends in the field and pattern occurrences
- Serves as a liaison between administration & subordinates; transmits decisions & directives; represents management at meetings
- Conduct staff meetings to disseminate relevant information on the behalf of supervisor
- Assumes responsibility in absence of supervisor & makes recommendations for course of action
- Researches & conducts on-site monitoring of existing programs
- Develops project recommendations based upon monitoring to ensure safe conditions for residents & staff at the facility
- Monitors campus & buildings for unusual &/or unsafe conditions
- Reports equipment malfunctions; completes reports
- Prepares and submits summaries of monitoring observations
- Performs a variety of safety functions (e.g. fire drills, evacuations safety/environmental inspections) of all living areas
- Monitors resident & staff activities for compliance with Certification & Licensure standards
- Conducts routine monitoring of resident program & medical charts
- Assists any department as directed during emergency situations
- Administer special programs for staff & management (e.g., in-service staff on incident prevention, identify effective prevention methods, etc.)
- Participates in planning meetings
- Attends manager/supervisor meetings
- Attends in-service training and conducts training (e.g. Fire Safety, Health and Safety Alerts), as required
- Attends meetings (HRC, Executive Staff) as needed
- Provides information to State Highway Patrol
- Assists with other duties as required.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 12 months training or 12 months experience in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 months training or 12 months experience in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
