Hiring Range for the Human Resource Generalist II is $53,183.00 - $66,479.00

- Own the full recruiting lifecycle – posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
- Partner with leaders to build strong teams and a great candidate experience
- Guide employees and managers through FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave processes
- Support employee relations, including coaching, documentation, and disciplinary actions
- Help ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies
- Assist with HR programs, projects, and day-to-day problem solving

1.Conducts recruitment efforts to include preparing recruitment announcements, screening applicants, recommending and reviewing or writing interview questions, serves on interview panels, and conducts reference checks.
2.Performs job or position classification by conducting or reviewing job/position analyses, gathering organizational and other applicable information, preparing job descriptions and formulating a classification recommendation or decision.

4.Assists human resource director with coordinating employee benefits with providers and others, including open enrollment functions.
5.Provides expertise and training in the areas of customer service, processing of human resource transactions, and human resource processes.
6.Assists human resource director with required training, including preparation, review, and distribution; responsible for tracking staff training.
7.Processes and tracks personnel and payroll actions and other information necessary to personnel files.
8.Research and respond to human resources related inquiries.
9.Run reports from database to support college functions.
10.Manage the maintenance of personnel files.
11.Assist the human resource director with conducting wage and salary surveys.
12.Perform fingerprinting of new employees.
13.Provide general support to departmental managers relating to human resources.
14.Performs employee relations functions and works pro-actively with managers and supervisors to develop strategies for the resolution of human resource problems such as inappropriate employee behavior and performance issues.
15.Administers FMLA and Workers’ Comp.
16.Act in the absence of the human resource director to support campus human resource functions.
17.Ability to work overtime as needed.
18.Maintains strict confidentiality.
19.Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
HR Generalist I
1. Bachelor’s degree or four years of experience in human resources, or an equivalent combination of education and/or human resource experience. Preference will be given to those with their SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.
2. Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations, and personnel information systems.
3. Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft office software applications.
5. Must possess a strong professional demeanor and dress.
6. Must be organized and able to track a variety of assignments. Demonstrate written and oral communication skills.
HR Generalist II
1. Bachelor’s degree plus two years of professional human resource experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or human resource experience. Preference will be given to those with their SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.
2. Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations, and personnel information systems.
3. Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft office software applications.
5. Must possess a strong professional demeanor and dress.
6. Must be organized and able to track a variety of assignments. Demonstrate written and oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
1. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
2. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
WORKING HOURS: Typically, Monday through Friday. This is not a remote work position.
