Accounting Manager – Technical Staffing Firm
Oakridge Staffing is a rapidly growing technology staffing firm that provides high-end IT consultants and full-time talent to financial services, hedge funds, and technology companies nationwide. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our leadership team. This individual will oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, manage consultant payroll and invoicing, and ensure compliance across multiple states.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting functions including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Manage client invoicing, payment collections, and credit memo adjustments.
- Ensure accuracy of all consultant and client billing records in TrackerRMS (ATS) and QuickBooks.
ATS, Timesheets & Invoicing
- Review and approve consultant timesheets submitted through the ATS (TrackerRMS or similar).
- Reconcile hours, rates, and project codes to generate accurate client invoices.
- Oversee weekly/bi-monthly payroll processing through ADP (Workforce Now or TotalSource).
- Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll, unemployment, and workers’ compensation requirements.
- Handle onboarding/offboarding for consultants, including tax and insurance documentation.
HR & Employee Lifecycle
- Coordinate with HR for new hire onboarding, benefits setup, and terminations.
- Manage unemployment claims, state filings, and verification of employment.
- Maintain accurate employee and vendor records in the ATS and accounting systems.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Help streamline invoice and payment workflows between the ATS, Bill.com, and QuickBooks.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities for payroll, onboarding, and compliance tracking.
- Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis, margin tracking, and cost modeling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus).
- 5 years of accounting experience; staffing industry or professional services experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (TrackerRMS, Bullhorn, JobDiva, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of ADP, QuickBooks, and Bill.com.
- Excellent understanding of multi-state payroll and tax compliance.
- Detail-oriented with strong Excel skills and ability to analyze cost, margin, and burden models.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with consultants, clients, and internal staff.
On-site work schedule (Purchase, NY office)
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
