Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to report to healthcare professionals
- Administer medication following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer devices to safely move residents or clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Document care activities accurately, including patient observations, medication administration, and progress notes
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health or behavior
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and care plan adherence
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
