Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
• Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and patient observations to ensure safety and health compliance
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization tasks
• Follow care plans meticulously, documenting patient progress and communicating updates to healthcare teams while adhering to HIPAA regulations
• Support clients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities

Qualifications

• Prior experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or complex medical conditions such as dementia or autism is desirable
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for caregiving duties
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient support
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are often necessary for client visits
