What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chophouse Foodserver Part Time Swing Shift position at Nugget Casino Resort?
FUNCTION:
The Food Server in the Chophouse is responsible for creating the overall dining experience for our guests. The fine dining server will be accountable for interacting with guests, taking food and beverage orders, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet guests promptly using the guests name if known. Introduce yourself and any specials of the evening.
- Familiarize oneself with all VIP’s, knowing names and alerting staff of their arrival.
- Possess knowledge of menu items, ingredients, garnishes, cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and textures. Capable of explaining this information in full detail to guests.
- Describes menu items and wines as requested. Ability to make interesting and appropriate wine suggestions to compliment the dishes chosen.
- Maintain tables throughout the service, clearing dishes between coursed and empty glassware as necessary.
- Ensure that station is property set, including side stating.
- Monitors ticket times for food and beverage and informs the appropriate staff of the delays.
- Ability to use a POS system for accurately entering orders.
- Set the pace and direct the flow of service. This requires a special sensitivity not only to the guests timing needs, but also the kitchens.
- Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond”.
- Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
- Always maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
- Regular predictable attendance is required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Restaurant Operations Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
LANGUAGE:
Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years fine dining experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of wine and spirits is required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Alcohol Awareness Certification is required.
PHSYICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time.
Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.
Fine finger manipulation.
Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
