What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter I Fulltime Dayshift position at Nugget Casino Resort?
FUNCTION:
Responsible for mixing paints and stains to match existing colors, installing new wallpaper, and repairing damaged wallpaper, repairing drywall, installing and repairing tile, finish, and caulking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to patch and repair damaged wallpaper and hang new installations.
- Common knowledge of different types of paint, stains, textures, and finishes, with the ability to color match to existing structure, or furnishings.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools, related to the trade.
- Ability to work efficiently with minor supervision, meeting all deadlines often on short notice.
- Able to prepare material list per the job assignment, adhering to estimates and cost effectiveness of supplies needed to do the job.
- Responsible for the storage, maintenance, and labeling of all stains, pains, chemicals, and combustible materials with HMIS stickers, ensuring storage in metal containers.
- Proven ability to make small repairs to tile, grout, and porcelain tub finishes.
- Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Address guest concerns and or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond” as appropriate.
- Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, Safety Manager, and Engineering Manager/Director.
- Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
- Regular predictable attendance is required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Painter II
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 21 years of age.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
LANGUAGE:
Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1 year experience painting, staining, drywall, and tile repair.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Proficient knowledge on the use of hand and power tools, and brushes appropriate for the surface, drywall, and tile repair.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, and move product up to 75 lbs.
Fine finger manipulation.
Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
