About Us
NRG Management is a rapidly growing healthcare organization supporting substance abuse and mental health treatment centers across multiple states. We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support our expanding workforce and ensure accurate payroll processing and effective benefits administration.
Position Overview
The Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for managing high-volume, multi-state payroll while also supporting employee benefits administration. This role requires strong attention to detail, experience within large organizations, and the ability to manage both payroll and benefits processes from start to finish in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly payroll for a multi-state employee population
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions
- Manage payroll tax compliance across multiple states
- Handle garnishments, benefit deductions, and payroll adjustments
- Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
- Manage benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits and payroll inquiries
- Coordinate with benefits providers and brokers to resolve issues and ensure accurate billing
- Reconcile payroll and benefits reports and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and audit employee data in Paycom
- Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee records and reporting
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations
Qualifications
- 5 years of payroll and/or benefits experience, preferably in a large corporate or multi-entity organization
- Strong experience with multi-state payroll processing
- Hands-on experience with Paycom (highly preferred) or similar systems (ADP, Workday)
- Experience administering employee benefits programs
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits compliance (ACA, COBRA, etc.)
- Advanced attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
