Avaya Engineer
Location: Frederick, MD (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Telecom/Unified Communications Engineer with expertise in Avaya telephony systems, AWS Connect, and enterprise voice technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing PBX systems, unified communications, telecom infrastructure, and troubleshooting voice-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and administer Avaya Call Manager, System Manager, and Voicemail Systems.
- Support and maintain AWS Connect and enterprise telephony solutions.
- Manage NICE Uptivity Call Recording, TASKE Reporting, Cisco voice, secure telephony, and video communication systems.
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot voice/data telecommunications networks.
- Perform voice adds, moves, and changes (MACs) and resolve Service Desk tickets.
- Monitor system performance, user licenses, and maintain technical documentation.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity for telecom systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure reliable communication infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Telephony Systems Configuration.
- Hands-on experience with Avaya Call Manager, System Manager, and Voicemail Systems.
- Experience with NICE Uptivity Call Recording and TASKE Reporting.
- Knowledge of Cisco Voice, Secure Telephone, and Video Communication technologies.
- Experience with AWS Connect Administration.
- Strong understanding of Avaya PBX, Unified Communications, and Telecom Network Design.
- Knowledge of Voice/Data Circuits, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Telecommunications Architecture.
- Experience with telecom documentation and system audits.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
8–12 years of experience in Telephony Systems, Unified Communications, or Telecom Engineering.
