This is a role for someone who wants to be close to the build, close to the decisions, and involved in shaping energy infrastructure that is actually being delivered.
I am working on a confidential Staff BESS Electrical Engineer opportunity with a major organisation building large-scale battery energy storage and power infrastructure across the US.
This is not just calculations and drawings in isolation.
You will be involved from early concept, system sizing and layout, through to construction support, utility coordination, interconnection, permitting, design reviews, RFIs, submittals and site inspections.
The work will cover:
• Utility-scale lithium-ion BESS projects
• AC and DC electrical systems
• Medium voltage transformers, inverters, combiners and battery modules
• Single-line diagrams, schematics, grounding, raceway and protection strategies
• Grid integration, renewable energy and microgrid systems
• Short circuit, load flow, arc flash and coordination studies
• NEC 705, NEC 706, IEEE 1547, UL 9540 and NFPA 855 compliance
• EPC project delivery from design through construction
The ideal person will have strong BESS, solar, microgrid or energy storage experience, with the confidence to act as a technical lead and internal SME.
A PE licence is highly desirable, especially with the ability to obtain licensing in Nevada and South Carolina.

Package: $180.000 DOE
