This is a 40 hour per week and 52 weeks per year 1.0 FTE position
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) staff, Student Affairs leadership, and campus and nonprofit community partners toward continuing improvement in program development for the CCE.
- Develops and oversees campus, local, national, and international service-based programs.
- Oversees CCE service-based programs, including Civic Scholars, Unify/Special Olympics, and Buddy-Up youth mentoring.
- Mentors CCE student leaders.
- Manages and develops budgets and provides regular budget reports.
- Assists CCE student leaders with accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
- Assists CCE student leaders with event programming, including communication, planning, registrations, execution, and reflection and assessment.
- Facilitate professional and leader development of CCE student staff.
- Fosters, prioritizes, and maintains collaborative and supportive relationships with campus and nonprofit community partners and serve as primary liaison to Norwich and the CCE.
- Evaluates, maintains, and enforces CCE policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Identifies and implements best practices in student engagement and volunteer management.
- Coordinates local, national, and international CCE travel and registrations.
- Manages CCE communication and engagement, including all internal and external communication, and the NorwichServes (GivePulse) volunteer coordination platform.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises Work Study student staff and drivers.
- Assesses performance of CCE student staff and provides developmental feedback.
- Works occasional evenings and weekends to support the mission of the CCE and Student Affairs.
- Serves as a member of the Student Affairs Duty Officer rotation with occasional evening and weekend on-campus and on-call commitment.

- Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required. Degree in social work, public administration, higher education, or related field preferred.
- One year of experience in volunteer and/or service-learning management.
- Familiarity with Central Vermont and its nonprofit sector preferred.
- Event planning experience required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required; Banner and GivePulse experience preferred.
- Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 25 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus.
- Work some evening or weekend hours.
- Travel as needed.
Environmental Standards
- Indoor work at a computer workstation. Indoor and outdoor work at campus and community event sites.
- Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
