The Part-Time Public Services Assistant reports directly to the Director of Learning Resources and Library Services. The individual filling this position plays a positive role in helping the College and LRC (Learning Resources Center) carry out its mission.
- Greet customers at the circulation desk and provide quality customer service.
- Answer customers' questions related to library resources and services.
- Answer phone calls and provide friendly assistance.
- Help customers locate and circulate (check in and out) materials in the library.
- Help customers find and access online library resources.
- Record library usage statistics, such as the number of daily visitors.
- Assist customers with printers and other technology.
- Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Assist with library displays.
- Assist with maintaining stacks and shelving in the library.
- Assist with processing new materials.
- Open and/or close the building as scheduled.
- Assist with various projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to learn new software programs
- Excellent customer service skills
- Courteous, proactive, and collaborative
- Completes tasks on time
- Dependable

Requires some physical effort:
- Occasionally moving up to 25 pounds
- Regularly positioning books on shelves above shoulder level or near the ground
- Requires use of technology and operating a keyboard
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skill

Classification: Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour
Hours: Up to 29 hours per week
Location: Niceville Campus Susan Myers Learning Resources Center
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
