This position provides coordination and operational support for events, performances, and multimedia systems at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College. The role works closely with the Arts Center leadership and production team to help ensure events run smoothly by assisting with event preparation, coordinating technical needs, and supporting day-to-day production activities.
The individual in this role serves as a key point of support for faculty, staff, students, and community partners by helping organize event logistics, assisting with technical setup, and contributing to the overall success of performances and campus events.
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College adapt and evolve in order to effectively carry out its mission.
- Assist in coordinating the technical setup, operation, and teardown for events held at Mattie Kelly Arts Center venues.
- Provide support for audio, lighting, and multimedia systems used for performances, lectures, ceremonies, and other events.
- Work with departments, clients, and event organizers to help ensure events are prepared and supported with the appropriate technical resources.
- Assist the Director and production team with planning and logistics related to upcoming productions and events.
- Coordinate with the House Manager to support event schedules, including start times and intermission intervals.
- Work with the Costume Coordinator and production staff to help determine production needs and feasibility.
- Assist with coordinating vendors for production or stage equipment purchases and rentals as needed.
- Help maintain and organize stage equipment and production spaces, including lighting, sound equipment, fly systems, and other theater infrastructure.
- Participate as part of the production crew and assist with various event-related duties as needed.
- Support general organization and upkeep of Mattie Kelly Arts Center workspaces to help maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Complete required annual compliance training as part of the college's risk management program.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, communications, theatre production, or a related field.
- Four (4) to Six (6) years of relevant work experience required.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by scheduled events.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and teamwork in a customer service-oriented environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups including touring groups, faculty, staff, students and community members.
- Knowledge of audiovisual, lighting and sound equipment setup, operation, and maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to technical production and equipment use preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information and collaborate effectively.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to quickly resolve technical issues during live events.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in setup, operation and documentation
- Ability to lead, train, and coordinate student assistants and event support crews.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills when working with Touring Production Crews, faculty, staff, students and community partner.
- Effective time management and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Dependability and professionalism in managing responsibilities and maintaining equipment.
