NorthRock’s internship program attracts top undergraduate students seeking meaningful exposure to the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry. Over the course of 12 weeks, interns gain hands-on experience, contribute to impactful projects, and engage directly with leaders and professionals across the firm.

Due to the nature of internship responsibilities, this person must be located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, as this internship requires an in-office presence at our downtown Minneapolis office location.
About the Role
The Integration Intern supports the full lifecycle of advisor team transitions, from pre-acquisition preparation through post-integration refinement. You’ll work with cross-functional partners across Operations, Client Experience, and Technology to help ensure new teams are set up for success.
This internship offers unique exposure to the fast-paced, detail-driven world of M&A within the wealth management industry.
What You Will Do
- Assist in pre-transition planning, documentation, and coordination for incoming advisor teams
- Support system setup and testing across key platforms (CRM, reporting tools, etc.)
- Track transition milestones and maintain progress dashboards for visibility
- Partner with internal teams and custodians to resolve transition-related issues
- Contribute to integration training materials, playbooks, and templates
- Participate in post-transition debriefs to identify improvements and lessons learned
- Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment with NorthRock’s service standards
What You Bring
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Operations, or Project Management
- Junior or senior class standing preferred
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM or financial systems a plus
- Curiosity about M&A, financial services, or operational process design
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a credit and criminal background check is required
Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for this role is $20.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for Employee Sick & Safe Time (ESST). For more details on ESST, visit the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry's website.
