Enterprise Architect – Level 3
Project Overview:
This initiative is focused on assisting our continuous improvement of our Enterprise Architecture practice. As part of our IT strategy we are looking at opportunities to better manage our application and infrastructure portfolios and find opportunities to simplify and modernize our technology footprint. This work will be focused initially on helping establish an Application Portfolio Management process and framework and then working with chief architects across IT to rollout the framework. This will then be used to drive application rationalization and layout a roadmap for modernization.
Contractor’s Role:
This position is responsible for providing internal IT solutions consulting to ensure optimal outcomes for our Lines of Business from our IT teams. The consulting engagements are generally complex and cross-business unit in nature providing enabling teams to develop business cases, define the solution architecture and select appropriate vendors and solutions. A key focus in our enterprise architecture practice is to reduce the complexity of IT.
The ideal candidate would have a strong IT cross-functional background and experience in management consulting with financial services firms.
Experience Level: Senior, 7+ years with significant experience as an enterprise architect
Qualifications:
• Work with SMEs and specialists on strategic initiatives and high-level technology assessments with a focus on achieving business outcomes
• Individual contributor, a self-starter with excellent communication skills (both oral and written), story-telling, visual design, and PowerPoint skills
• Diverse problem-solving experience and ability to analyze problems using data-driven approaches across technology areas
• Passion for technology and understanding of key industry trends and emerging technologies such as cloud, advanced analytics, RPA, intelligent automation etc.,
• Person should have skills in translating broad strategic intent into tactical plans and directions to enable delivery.
• Produce quality deliverables and effectively manage expectations and deadlines to ensure exceptional performance
• Ideal candidate will have familiarity with enterprise architecture fundamentals
o Business architecture – mapping strategy to execution - e.g. business capability mapping
o Systems and technical architecture – integration patterns, evolution to cloud architectures
o Data architecture – understand business intelligence / analytics and data as a service models
Nice to Haves:
• Experience of management consulting
• Support large, multi-year strategic technology initiatives, and work effectively with business and technology stakeholders to deliver outcomes
• Enterprise architecture certification (e.g. TOGAF)
• Strong preference for in-depth functional knowledge in Financial Services, including familiarity with one or more of the following:
o Brokerage
o Front Office Investment and Fiduciary Practices
o Banking
o Asset Management Front Office (portfolio management and trading)
o Financial Accounting
o Corporate Risk Management
o Investment Manager Middle Office and Custodial Manager
o Fund Administration and Accounting
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Provide enterprise architecture consulting to new projects as required
• Support evolution of business architecture practice
• Understand and find opportunities to improve our core IT data sets (e.g. CMDB)
• Establish Application Portfolio Management framework with chief architects
• Define application and infrastructure portfolios
• Define process to assess disposition of the applications in portfolios (e.g. which applications need to be modernized or retired)
• Facilitate process to capture the disposition of all applications
• Drive creation of a modernization roadmap, sequencing and prioritizing based on the highest risk / value to NT
Salary : $100 - $125
