SUMMARY: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Financial Affairs, the Northern Oklahoma College Foundation, Inc (NOCF) Accountant processes and manages the daily financial activities of the Foundation. The Foundation Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions that provide accurate and timely financial information to the Foundation Board of Trustees, including financial statements for regular Trustee meetings as well as preparing all financial reports for annual external audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Process daily banking for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation
  • Process accounts payable for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation
  • Reconciliation of NOCF cash accounts
  • Prepare journal entries for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation
  • Prepare annual donor statements for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation
  • Prepare Foundation financial reports for different College departments
  • Process data entries and process interfaces on financial software for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation
  • Prepare financial statements for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation Trustee meetings
  • Attend Northern Oklahoma College Foundation Trustee meetings
  • Coordinate investment managers attendance for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation Investment Committee meetings
  • Coordinate external audits for Northern Oklahoma College Foundation
  • Perform account analysis
  • Prepare financial reports as required for individual Northern Oklahoma College Foundation accounts
  • Reconciliation of Scholarships and payment to NOC
  • Allocate investment activity to individual fund accounts
  • Invoice NOC and track OSRHE Endowment accounts
  • Process data for Form 990 tax return filing
  • Process Form 1099 and report to state and federal agencies
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets or databases for supporting documentation, record keeping, auditing and verification
  • Responds to Division Chairs and other department leads with account questions
  • Update NOCF Enid Higher Education Council Fund Account summary
  • Create and maintain job manual for position with regular updates to describe processes when substitutions are needed
  • Perform all other duties necessary to accomplish the educational objective of the College and Foundation and/or as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Student Financial Affairs

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills, excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as well as expertise to accomplish the above essential duties and responsibilities as required. Experience in Fund accounting, Microsoft Office applications, and accounting software (such as Blackbaud Financial Edge) is preferred. The Foundation Accountant must preserve confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information; use independent judgment and initiative in the planning, organization, and performance of responsible Accountant work; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Must be able to work under pressure; meet flexible deadlines; set priorities and maintain professionalism when dealing with individuals. Weekend and evening work may be required. Subject to satisfactory Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure which includes a criminal background check.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A minimum educational level of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or relevant area with three to five years’ experience with complete accounting cycle, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Preference given to candidates with higher education or non-profit experience with knowledge in accounting software, i.e. Blackbaud Financial Edge. Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) is needed.
