SUMMARY:
Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Staff Assistant to Human Resources is responsible for providing support to the Director of Human Resources and in all areas pertaining to Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Initial contact in the Office of Human Resources
- Process incoming and outgoing office mail
- Process student payrolls (bi-weekly) on J1payroll module and submit electrically to Office of Management & Enterprise Services for direct deposit
- Create and maintain student employee files
- Perform mandatory employment verification through E-Verify for Student workers
- Create and post monthly and weekly timesheets for full time employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have computer knowledge; the ability to analyze and interpret government regulations; the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions; and the ability to write effectively. An understanding of the importance of confidentiality is vital. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A minimum educational level of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or other discipline related to procurement; and two to three years related experience in procurement or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in higher education or state work environment with specific emphasis in purchasing is preferred. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) are preferred.
