POSITION/TITLE:Full Time Facilities Manager
PROGRAM/LOCATION:North River Collaborative-All Locations
(Almshouse-198 Spring Street in Rockland, MA)
START DATE:July 1, 2026
LENGTH OF POSITION:Full Year Position (260 Days-40 Hours/Week)
SALARY SCHEDULE:Operational Administrator Salary Schedule
($29 to $34 per hour based upon experience)
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Three years of custodial/maintenance experience, preferred
Trade certification or experience, highly preferred
REPORTS TO:Executive Director
SUPERVISES:Custodians/Temporary Custodial Staff
EVALUATION:Staff evaluation will be implemented as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures Handbook.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
DIRECT SERVICE
Empty trash exterior and interior daily at Almshouse.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms (toilets and basins) daily at Almshouse.
Inspect and clean the kitchen, breakroom and conference rooms at Almshouse.
Wipe off and sanitize tables in common areas at Almshouse.
Sanitize surfaces that are in high traffic areas at Almshouse.
Cleaning windows at Almshouse.
Complete any as needed emergency cleaning or maintenance at Almshouse.
Serve as coordinator and on site facilitator of snow cleanup for all locations and vans including supervision and direction of the snow team.
Vacuum and clean floors at Almshouse.
Wax floors or deep clean carpets at Almshouse.
Inventory of janitorial supplies, process purchase orders as needed.
Maintain the landscaping needs of the property: mow lawn, weedwhack, etc.
Maintain all materials for landscaping and snow removal equipment as well as the equipment itself.
Ensure the property is in an overall clean and orderly condition for staff, students, and visitors.
Implement and track a facilities request system and prioritize requests based upon level of urgency.
Minor building and equipment maintenance repairs and painting.
Solicitation of vendors to complete major maintenance projects or for purchasing needs following Chapter 30B procurement regulations.
Maintain a rolodex of vendors and develop strong relationships.
Development and oversight of a cleaning and maintenance schedule for all properties.
Courier materials and supplies to and from all programs.
Build furniture and materials for office/classroom spaces.
Movement of furniture and materials within a location as requested.
Assist with the planning and preparation of special events and gatherings.
Engage in activities to support the transportation department as needed at the request of the Executive Director or Director of Transportation.
Work to support the North River Collaborative Capital Plan and Technology Plan.
Ensure that a safe and comfortable working environment is maintained at all locations.
SUPERVISION AND TRAINING
Supervise and evaluate all custodial staff.
Monitor and support the scheduling/implementation of periodic or daily duties.
Direct interactions with vendors to ensure implementation.
DOCUMENTATION, EVALUATION, AND COMMUNICATION
Submit all written reports, goals and objectives on a timely basis.
Participate in the requisition and purchasing process in a proactive manner so as to keep supply levels consistent and efficient.
Provide input for the development of program or district budget as requested.
Abide by established work hours and follow policies and procedures outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies & Procedures Handbook.
Maintain a schedule of cleaning and maintenance and forecast/track building maintenance needs.
Communicate effectively with all programs and departments.
Become familiar with all programs and departments while maintaining a presence for support.
Engage in regular administrative team meetings and apprise the Executive Director of all activities and projects on an ongoing basis.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Engage in the role in a culturally proficient manner.
Able to safely lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting students up to 100 lbs.
