People Operations Associate
New York, NY | Onsite Monday-Friday
Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a People Operations Associate to join their HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with HR systems, employee data, onboarding, and process improvement in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This is an open-ended full-time contract opportunity with overtime eligibility and strong potential for long-term growth.
Compensation
- $33-$38/hour (based on experience)
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Overtime eligible
- Onsite Monday-Friday in Midtown Manhattan
What You'll Do
- Maintain and update employee records throughout the employee lifecycle within the HRIS.
- Support new hire onboarding by coordinating documentation, system setup, and onboarding logistics.
- Process employee changes, including promotions, transfers, compensation updates, and organizational changes.
- Review HR data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and complete regular audits to ensure data integrity.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and internal stakeholders to process employee transactions efficiently.
- Assist with payroll-related activities, timesheet reviews, and benefit file administration.
- Prepare employment verification requests and other HR documentation.
- Coordinate contractor onboarding, including agreements, background checks, and system access.
- Monitor contractor assignments and assist with contract extensions and renewals.
- Support vendor invoice processing and contractor administration.
- Generate reports and analyze HR data using Excel and HR systems to support business needs.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline People Operations workflows.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2 years of experience in HR Operations, People Operations, HRIS, HR Administration, or a related function.
- Experience working within an HRIS such as Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, or a similar platform.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting employee onboarding, HR data management, or contractor administration is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience
- HR reporting or analytics experience.
- Invoice processing or vendor management.
- Process improvement initiatives within an HR or People Operations team.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau is a plus.
