Position Summary:
As a key member of the Finance Team, the Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Contract Accounting, and Revenue Recognition, while leading a team of 5 direct reports. This role ensures compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting accurate financial reporting, audits, and internal controls. The Accounting Manager leads the month-end close process, prepares financial statements, and contributes to process improvements that enhance accounting operational efficiency. In a manufacturing setting, this position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing cost control, ensuring proper revenue recognition, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.
Position Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Accounting Operations:
- Manage daily accounting activities including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and various subledgers.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Support fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure tracking.
Financial Accounting:
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition and expense matching.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
- Suppose lease accounting and compliance with ASC 842 and other relevant accounting standards.
- Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations.
Contract Accounting
- Review and interpret customer and vendor contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition and expense allocation.
- Track contract milestones, billing schedules, and performance obligations.
- Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
- Coordinate with Legal, Sales, and Procurement to ensure contracts are properly structured and documented.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Maintain and improve accounting policies and procedures to ensure strong internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support external audits and internal reviews by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Oversee compliance with tax regulations and support tax filings.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
- Serve as a liaison between Finance and other departments including Operations, Engineering, and Procurement.
- Provide backup support for other accounting roles as needed.
Requirements:
- The individual shall have a minimum of 8 years in general accounting with documented progression in complexity, preferably with a manufacturing background.
- The individual shall have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of team leadership
- Understanding of complex entity structure
- Familiarity with contract accounting, including revenue recognition and contract review
- Strong knowledge of the Accounting Cycle, Journal Entries, Reconciliations
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong abilities to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)

Salary : $120,000 - $135,000
