The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for all building users. This includes daily cleaning of building areas, completion of assigned work orders, building and equipment maintenance and securing of building daily. In addition to daily tasks, this position is responsible for assisting the district with after hours building rentals and events, grounds maintenance and snow and ice removal.
The assigned shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 10:30pm throughout the school year. Schedule is subject to change; Summer shift hours may change as the custodial team must work as a team to complete summer cleaning projects prior to the start of the school year. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and weather conditions.Knowledge of precautions used to avoid exposure to cleaning and stripping compounds and fumes; and noise exposure from power equipment. Employee will frequently lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.Perform ground maintenance requiring periodically working outdoors in inclement weather, including snow removal activities.
May require flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency call-backs.Salary Range: $22.47/hour (Step 1) - $23.60/hour (Step 3) (Base Rate)Evaluation: The Facilities Director and/or the Building Principal will evaluate performance of this position annually.
