The Job Coach will work with the Supported Employment Program Coordinator and other job coaches to provide comprehensive employment-related support services, off-site and on-site, to ensure successful job placement and retention to deaf and hard of hearing developmentally disabled adults.
Essential Functions
- Provide communication assistance between the employer and client
- Provide on the job training and support for the individual client’s job
- Assist in implementing any work site adaptations necessary to make a job placement successful
- Identify reasonable accommodations
- Provide destination training
- Provide continuous or periodic job skill training services
- Address any problems related to employment retention
- Document all services provided
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Minimum of two years of college and/or equivalent experience working with deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
Qualifications
Possess qualities of a self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good organization and communication skills. Reliable attendance including punctuality and minimal absenteeism. Fluency in American Sign Language required. Ability to function in a team environment. Willingness to work flexible hours (overnights, weekends) to meet consumer’s needs. Valid California driver’s license and current automobile insurance as required by law or reliable means of transportation.
