PACU Registered Nurse
Shift - Day Shift (0600-1430)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the critical post-operative period. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Duties
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-anesthesia.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) lines as needed.
- Assess patients for any complications or adverse reactions following surgery.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless patient transitions from the operating room to recovery.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided in accordance with hospital policies.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the PACU.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- 3 years of RN experience required
- 1 year of PACU experience required
Requirements
- Current RN License in state of MA
- Current BLS from AHA
