Med/Surg Registered Nurse
Shift - Days, 7a-7:30pm.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Surgical Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care within a fast-paced hospital environment, utilizing expertise in medical-surgical nursing, critical care, and specialized procedures. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering medications, documenting care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA and safety protocols.
- Maintain sterile technique during invasive procedures such as spinal taps or ostomy care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR/EHR systems while adhering to medical records standards.
- Provide patient education on medication administration, pain management strategies, nutrition plans, and discharge planning.
- Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
Experience
- At least 1 year of Medical-Surgical experience required.
- Current RN license in the State of Maine.
- Current BLS certification
